BlackBerry Curve 9370 sports LTE support?

BlackBerry Curve 9370 sports LTE support? Whoa – what do we have here? A leaked document from Verizon Wireless shows that the upcoming BlackBerry Curve 9370 will boast of LTE support – now this is definitely something new to us as we never heard Research In Motion (RIM) mentioned anything about this before. With a launch date of September 8th, there is also a segment in the leaked document that says “new to report 4G smartphone”.

Of course, this could very well be a typo, or a careless mistake by the person who came up with this document. Or, it could very well be a devious (but clever) plan by RIM to drum up interest in the BlackBerry Curve 9370 before it arrives, after all, the smartphone manufacturer isn’t said to be doing gangbusters at the moment. Well, with this piece of information out, do you think the BlackBerry Curve 9370 will ultimately feature LTE connectivity or not? If it does, hopefully the battery life is able to keep up with it.

RIM: RIM is the acronym for Research In Motion, the Canadian company behind the BlackBerry brand. RIM was founded in the mid 90s by Mike Lazaridis and with Jim Balsillie and went IPO (Initial Public Offering) in 1998. Its claim to fame was to make mobile email really effective and enterprises quickly adopted its devices and associated software and services which were highly lucrative. With the rise of iOS and Android devices, the BlackBerry franchise bumped into trouble and its decline prompted RIM to take a radical step by overhauling its BlackBerry operating system (OS) completely with QNX. The first version of the QNX BlackBerry OS is BlackBerry 10 or BB10.

Verizon: Verizon Communications Inc is a broadband and telecommunications company. It is mainly known for its Verizon Wireless division which is the largest wireless carrier in the United States, and one of the largest in the world.
