If you were to pull up at a red light in a Ferrari 458 Spider convertible, many people would definitely stare at the car first, then the driver, having questions such as what do you do for a living swimming in their heads. Compare that to having the custom Beer Can Car right beside the Ferrari 458 Spider, and just which vehicle do you think will get more stares? This is definitely not the vehicle for those who have been convicted of drunk driving offences before, that’s for sure.

This remarkable piece of engineering sees a total of 1,200 models built by Automotive Innovations for beer giant Budweiser, and the majority of them spent their latter part of their life as promotional cars for other breweries including Stroh. Good thing there is this thing called eBay, where it is a channel that paves the way for you to be the lucky owner of the next one.

Produced in the 1980s by Automotive Innovations, these unique can-shaped cars are road legal, and were constructed based on a Volkswagen platform, ranging from the engine to suspension hardware. They were subsequently hand painted to resemble larger-than-life beer cans. Heck, beer drinkers would love this since it has a compartment that can stash away a full 15-gallon keg with a tap just in case you get thirsty on your travels. Currently, bidding has passed the $2,300 mark although you can always blow away all competitors if you have $7,500 lying around.
