Remember the iPad Head Girl that, well, literally turned heads wherever she walked in New York? That was a stunt pulled off by the latest iPad only magazine, Cosmo for Guys, thanks to viral marketing agency Thinkmodo who did the job on behalf of Hearst Magazines. Surely some of you have wondered just how it was done – well, wait no more and check out the video in the extended post (as well as additional snippets of information), and see how the iPad Head was assembled and fabricated!

Designed by Clockwork Apple in Brooklyn, New York, it was custom fitted to the actress’ head (but of course). The crew went ahead to record the girl as she walked around four times directly onto each of the iPads. To ensure that the whole image does not look disjointed when viewed, the camera operator had to take advantage of a custom iPad mount on a “Glide-Cam.” Since she had to see where she was going without looking like a clumsy person, there was a pair of video glasses connected to a video camera that is located inside her purse. Must’ve been quite the claustrophobic experience, don’t you think so?

Of course, to make sure the actress remained comfortable at all times, ice packs were applied to her neck between takes in order to minimize discomfort.
