Remember when we reported slightly more than a week ago that Mindscape decided to kill off the Nabaztag desktop accessory? Well, I would say that it was inevitable in some way or another – after all, how many people do you know actually purchased one of those? Well, glad to know that the spirit of Nabaztag lives on in the form of Karotz, where it has already appeared over at the FCC.

Karotz has been marketed as the “the first intelligent house robot,” although we have no idea on just how intelligent it will be – can it remember all five different coffee orders for different people living under the same roof? The FCC has taken the Karotz and tore all its non-existent fur apart, testing out its Wi-Fi and various radio compliance to make sure that everything else is up to snuff.

Karotz is smart enough to shoot an entire room and send it over to the owner remotely, and when it is connected to speakers, you are able to use it to stream music right from a compatible smartphone or tablet. Since it has arrived at the FCC, that can only mean one thing – Karotz is on its way to North America, where speculation abounds that it will retail for around $200.
