The folks over at Logitech must have turned green with envy knowing that the Battlefield 3 Imperator gaming mouse from Razer was announced yesterday, and so they decided to strike back with the Logitech Gaming Mouse G300. Hey, that’s how some people see the situation, although it most probably boils down to a matter of coincidence. This latest gaming mouse from Logitech sports a compact shape, boasting a trio of onboard profiles that will have a slew of configuration options to drive you nuts, a speedy 1 millisecond report rate, and a 2500 DPI optical sensor which should be able to keep up with your reflexes for added accuracy.

Nice to know the G300 was designed in an ambidextrous manner – so that southpaws like myself won’t feel left out, and it will appeal particular to those who prefer to play with a fingertip grip style. With 9 programmable buttons that are within reach in a jiffy, they won’t get in your way even when the action gets all hot and heavy.

The moment the Logitech G300 leaves the box, there are already three onboard profiles that have been configured with basic MMO, FPS, and productivity settings, although you are more than welcome to change those when you get back home. Illuminated areas located near the thumb glow red, blue, or green, indicating the profile you’re stuck with at the moment. It will cost $39.99 a pop if you’re interested. [Press Release]
