Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha thinks that the company is too complacent when it comes to the design of their devices, and has raised hopes that things will take a more aggressive turn later this year with newer models by touting that Motorola will be introducing tablets that are far more aggressive than the XOOM – the company’s first tablet outing. Despite shifting some attention to the tablet market, Motorola knows that it would be folly to dismiss their smartphone segment which remains their bread and butter at the moment – and it doesn’t make sense to neglect this revived segment of their business.

Motorola also believes that they need more applications and content to be made available upon launch, and it has been something which we have believed all this while – that value is in the software. After all, if you can come up with something that is solid hardware-wise like the HP TouchPad or BlackBerry PlayBook, but lack the software to go along with it, there really isn’t much for you to go far with.

Jha also threw a curveball by saying that Motorola is “completely open to the notion of Windows as a platform” – this is in sharp contrast to what the company has been rolling out all this while – Android-powered devices.
