Sprint employees told to keep mum on iPhone 5 The iPhone 5? It is something like Jaws – you know it is coming for you, swimming somewhere in the waters, but you are not quite sure just when and where will it arrive. It does seem rather certain to arrive sometime next month or in October though, and at Sprint to boot. What is strange is that Sprint has told their employees via an internal memo that they need not speculate about Sprint receiving the iPhone, with the standard “No comment” response being issued.

If ever customers get too carried away in their line of questioning, employees are asked to refer customers to Sprint’s newsroom site. Would this kind of denial actually fuel rumors or raise further anticipation of the iPhone 5 when it arrives? What do you think? Since then, Apple has released new iPhone models every year, with the iPhone 3G in July 2008, the iPhone 3GS in June 2009, the iPhone 4 in June 2010, the iPhone 4S in October 2011 and the iPhone 5 in September 2012. The iPhone represented more than half of Apple's revenues in 2012.

iPhone 5: The iPhone 5 (read our iPhone 5 review) is a smartphone from Apple. It was launched on Sept 12 2012 and features a 4" display, 4G LTE, a thinner chassis and a faster A6 processor. At the time of its launch, it was obviously the best iPhone yet, but a large number of customers and observers came out very divided about its feature set. Sprint: Sprint is one of the major wireless carriers in the USA. It uses a mix of CDMA, WiMax and LTE Networks as the backbone of its infrastructure. The company's network is also used by third parties and mobile virtual operators like Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and Assurance Wireless. Sprint has about 55M subscribers.
