Sprint is back in the high stakes game of high end smartphones with the Samsung Conquer 4G, where it will be the 25th 4G-capable device from the mobile carrier. The 25th! That’s quite fast to reach such a figure, and it just goes to show how many devices have already passed through Sprint’s doors over the past year. In addition, the Samsung Conquer 4G is one interesting smartphone where its pricing is concerned – it will retail for under the crucial $100 mark, letting Sprint customers enjoy 4G connectivity without forking out more money than expected. This is a pleasant surprise – I was thinking more of the usual $199.99 price point before a mail-in rebate and 2-year contract.

Just what does the Samsung Conquer 4G bring to the table? We are looking at Android 2.3 Gingerbread as the operating system of choice, a 1GHz processor, Sprint ID, a 3.5″ touchscreen display, a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera with flash, a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video chats, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a microSD memory card slot, and Android Market support.

Anyone ready to pick up the Conquer 4G and give it a go? Hopefully the battery life will be superior to that of the HTC Thunderbolt…[Press Release]
