It seems that the Samsung Fascinate was the last of the Mohicans – wait a minute, wrong script. The Fascinate was the final Samsung Galaxy S variant to arrive in the US via Verizon Wireless, and Big Red did do a pretty good job in making sure that the Fascinate did not fall behind other smartphones when it comes to software updates, although some of the newer updates did bring along with it its fair share of bugs to irritate users. Well, just like how all good things must come to an end, Verizon will be retiring the Samsung Fascinate, having slapped on a “retired” label on the phone’s listing as you can see above.

Once a particular handset has been retired, it will surely have been removed from the carrier’s online store as well. Needless to say, this is not a moment where we should grieve, as there are far better Android-powered smartphones available in the market for you to choose from, what with the Galaxy S II already out. If you were thinking of picking up the Fascinate just recently, then tough luck to you – best to look out for a newer handset.
