divx_plus_streamingRovi, the company behind DivX, has just launched DivX Plus Streaming, a solution that enables the streaming of secure DivX content to connected devices like set top boxes, Blu-Ray players, computers, consoles, smartphones and tablets.Although this may seem like something that already exists, having another option to get content on our favorite devices -using a proven technology- may be a good thing for the industry. Also, DivX Plus Streaming Plus has built-in mechanisms that enables or drastically improves operations like “instant playback” and “rewind/forward”, which ultimately make the user experience better.  DivX Plus Streaming is also capable of adapting (in realtime) to bandwidth conditions and stream content from 480p to 1080p.DivX Plus Streaming will be accessible to developers and consumer electronics manufacturers right now, and you should start seeing products down the road, maybe even at CES (I’m just speculating).
