Are you a huge fan of Dragonquest? Well, if you answered in the affirmative, then might we interest you in Dragonquest X (for those who aren’t too savvy with Roman numerals, then the X here means 10), where it has been more or less confirmed to arrive on the Wii next year (which is a good thing as that means the game console won’t be phased out just yet) in addition to the Wii U. Seems to be Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii and Gamecube all over again, no?
This title from Square Enix has been officially called “Dragonquest: Awakening of the Five Tribes”, and unfortunately for future Wii U owners, there is no confirmed release date set just yet.
This piece of news could not come in a more timely fashion, especially when the title was first announced back in 2008, which was a good three years ago. Yuji, Horii, composer Koichi Sugiyama and character designer Akira Toriyama are names that you would love to have on this project, and glad to say they’re all there. At least we now know that Dragonquest X is no vaporware.
