Googles Dart programming languageWe did catch Google in the act of picking up all the possible domain names last week, and speculation was rife as to what Dart was all about. Well, we’re glad that the cloud has cleared now, with Dart being a new programming language that will be employed for “structured web programming.” Just when will Dart be unveiled? The historical moment is set to happen this coming October 10th at the keynote speech of the Goto conference in Aarhus, Denmark, where a couple of Google developers will have the honor of doing so.

Until then though, most things about Dart are veiled in secrecy, so you can only continue to guess just what kind of characteristics and feature set will be implemented. Since it has been declared to be “structured web programming”, chances are quite high that this will be some form of interpreted, in-the-browser language, which will place it in the same line as that of JavaScript or Python. Do you think that Google’s foray into the world of programming languages will be a success?
