Kobo is cozying up with Facebook unlike never before, and today, we have the company announce Kobo Pulse in an effort to expand their social platform – Reading Life – alongside signalling their intention to achieve and maintain its leadership in the social eReading scene. Kobo says that every page of each book has a ‘pulse’, which is an indicator of social engagement that is driven by who and how many people are reading, what they think about it, alongside their comments. With Kobo Pulse, this will enable readers to be far more engaged with a book, including learning the life of a book, connect with their friends, share their sentiments, as well as get involved in thought provoking discussions (now isn’t that a nice word for debate) regardless of the book they read, thanks to the integration with Facebook.

Guess you no longer need to share what you like about a particular book with random strangers on the street, at the bus terminal or airport – do it all from the comfort of wherever you are, as long as there is a decent Internet connection somewhere. Needless to say, the far more popular tomes will have so much more “noise” for you to filter though. Head on here to read more about Kobo Pulse. [Press Release]
