IFA 2011 in Berlin, Germany might be well behind us by now, but that does not mean all the excitement surrounding the event has died down completely. No sir, there will definitely be more ripples going through the industry circles, and Samsung has also debuted a couple more devices which are more than eye-catching – the ST96 compact camera that does not skimp on style, alongside the SMX-F70 SD camcorder.
The former intends to merge both performance and features in a single device, letting you capture shots that were once impossible with your entry-level digital camera that could never take a great image in low light conditions without a flash. Not with the ST96 though, this 14-megapixel shooter has a BSI (Back Side Illuminated) CMOS sensor and Dual Capture function that allows you to capture images in dark areas, not to mention having the ability to create 3D images. If you want to capture some video once in a while, the ST96 fits the bill perfectly as it can stash away those precious moments in Full HD resolution.
As for the Samsung SMX-F70, this is touted to be the only SD camcorder on the market that comes packaged with a CMOS sensor with progressive (1280×720 resolution) recording, at 30 or 25 frames per second for NTSC or PAL systems. An intelligent Smart Auto feature will enable you to pick the right shooting mode depending on the light level for the best results possible.
