Remember when you played House Atredies on the PC version of Dune 2 by Westwood Studios? That was an adventure of a lifetime, and one of the best advantages of the Sonic Tank was its amazing range that made short work of missile turrets, destroying Devastators before they even came close. Well, the Soundtank concept that you see here is not going to level any buildings anytime soon, but Nik Nowak’s creation is an experiment in sound itself.

The Soundtank is said to have a particular frequency spectrum and, and will subscribe to the motto “Hit me with music”, where it is capable of attaining a considerable volume level on its own. Not only that, it will be extremely mobile and independent of a street infrastructure. Taking a Japanese mini dumper complete with steel tracks, Nik dismantled it and repurposed his labor of love into a sound vehicle that you see here, equipped with half a dozen 12″ mid-range drivers, a trio of 18″ subwoofers and a quartet of tweeters.

The frequency ranges remain neatly apart in order for Nik to achieve the right sound mix always, and with a performance level of 4000 Watts, this is one wall of speakers not to be trifled with.
