Apple TV and MacBook Pro 15″ get bug fixes

Apple has just released a couple of new updates for its Apple TV set top box and for its 15″ Mac Book Pro. For the Apple TV, the update brings the device up to version 4.4.2 and introduces some issues that are present in current version of the operating system. Folks who are already running version 4.4 or 4.4.1 are advised to reset all settings before downloading the new update.

The update basically adds all the features that were introduced in 4.4, sans any problems: Photo Stream, AirPlay Mirroring, National Hockey League, Wall Street Journal, New Slideshow themes, and Support for Netflix subtitles (when available).

The MacBook Pro’s Video Update 1.0 fixes the freezing/video stopping bug that’s present in the 15″ MacBook Pro manufactured between April 2010 and February 2011. It requires Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1, so make sure you update your operating system before you run the video update.

iOS: was once upon a time called iPhone OS, or "operating system", which is the software that provides all the basic device functionality and is the interface between the hardware and applications. iOS was introduced with the iPhone on January 9 2007, and it was originally not intended to be programmable by third parties. Steve Jobs had envisioned that developers could create Web Apps that would run in the browser. This changed less than one year after when the iPhone SDK (software development kit) was introduced in October 2007. Today, hundreds of thousands of apps have been created for this platform. iPhone OS became iOS on June 2010. Interestingly, both iPhone and iOS were former trademarks of Cisco, that Apple now uses under a license.

Macbook Pro: The Macbook Pro is a laptop line from Apple Inc. It exists in two main variants, 13" and 15", and typically serves as the "professional" mobile computers for the company. All Macbook Pro computers use a Unibody design which is carved into a massive block of aluminum to ensure structural integrity. On June 11 2012, Apple has announced the new Macbook Pro with Retina display.
