Research in Motion (RIM) has just announced that it managed to restore its range of BlackBerry services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The amount of time between the first outage until a full restoration of service? 20 hours – which is a walk in the park for Sony PS3 owners who suffered far longer when their PlayStation Network was hacked. In RIM’s statement issued at 0550 GMT, “Yesterday, some BlackBerry subscribers in the EMEA region experienced delays with BlackBerry services. The issue was resolved and services are operating normally. We apologize to those customers who were impacted for any inconvenience.”

Well, life is back to normal now for all of your BlackBerry owners in the affected regions. We do wish that nothing of the sort will happen again in the future, but knowing how Murphy’s Law tends to come into effect at the most inopportune of times, just keep your fingers crossed.
