If you want to know how to install CyanogenMod 7 for the HP TouchPad, head on here – but bear in mind that it is not meant for the timid hearted. An alpha build of the popular tablet Android 2.3 firmware has been released, where it will target the diehard modder. Most of the release note comprises of warnings that concern potential data loss, bricking (which shouldn’t really matter since this is a discontinued tablet anyways) and overall doom-and-gloom that can be summed up as this, “Abandon all hope ye who enter here.”

Guess that applies with most alpha builds of firmware out there, some more than most. So far, we do know that all the essential items are there including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the digital camera, dual-core support for superior processing power, Netflix support as well as wireless charging thanks to Touchstone technology. Are you willing to take a similar risk?
