iPhone 4S

So we know that not all countries in the world will be getting the iPhone 4S just yet, China being one of them. The good news is that as long as there is a product that people want, there will always be a grey market from which you will be able to purchase yourself said product, although usually that comes with a premium price attached to it. In this case, the iPhone 4S imported through the grey market in China will easily cost you about three times the normal price of the base model.

It is without doubt that the iPhone 4S is probably one of the hottest selling phone at the moment. Say what you will about Apple and their products, but hitting 1 million pre-orders on the first day itself is quite a feat, further cementing the fact that it is one heck of a popular phone. So what’s the price you can expect to pay if you’re in China and you’re hoping to get the iPhone 4S? According to an electronics vendor in Beijing, he was selling the 16GB model for $1,729, with the 32GB fetching $2,043.

Take note that these are prices without contract, meaning that the phones are unlocked. It appears that these vendors are getting their phones from various parts of the world, such as US, UK and Australia, which are among the countries that received the iPhone 4S first. Despite the exorbitant prices, it looks like there are willing buyers who will pay in order to claim “first”, or at least being one of the first few in China to own the iPhone 4S.
