In Microsoft’s latest earnings report for fiscal Q1 2012, we decided to forgo all the blah-blah about Windows and the rest of the software from the Redmond, Washington camp, and concentrated on just how many Xbox 360 consoles the company has shipped. It seems that the latest figure points towards a whopping 57.6 million – now that is a whole lot of Xboxes, so to speak. The latest quarter that ended on September 30th this year made up 2.3 million units, which is a 2.8% decrease from the corresponding period in 2010. Still, that has not dislodged the Xbox 360 from being the best selling console in the US for the last seven consecutive months, while revenue for the platform also increased by 7% courtesy of more Xbox Live purchases.
