Motorola DROID Pro and DROID 2 Global receives Gingerbread

Good news to Motorola DROID Pro and DROID 2 Global owners – it looks like you’ll be receiving an official Gingerbread update earlier than folks rocking an HTC Thunderbolt. Verizon has started pushing out an OTA update that brings the operating system update in addition to a whole load of new features and bug fixes to the phones. You should start seeing the notification to download the update on your phone or you can hit Menu > Settings > About to pull it manually.

As usual, be sure to back up your phone before updating your phone and to be on the safe side wait it out for a few days to see whether other people experience problems with the update. After all you don’t want to update your phone to welcome new bugs when you’ve learnt to live with the previous ones.
