Not just for playing 3D games, Nintendo has announced today DreamWorks Animation, the Blue Man Group and 3net will be providing 3D video content for their portable gaming console, the Nintendo 3DS.

According to the company, users should be able to look forward to two short animations from DreamWorks Animation’s “Monster Vs. Aliens” and “Shrek”. The clips will feature a Halloween theme and will feature characters from both movies, with the latter featuring the three little pigs characters.

If you’re not a fan of animated movies and you’re more musically inclined, the Blue Man Group has also agreed to produce six videos for the Nintendo 3DS, which will be released “occasionally”. 3net, a collaboration between Discovery Communications, Sony and IMAX will also be releasing several short videos based from their network’s original series, such as “Bullproof”, “Feeding Time” and “Building the Brand”.
