Mention U-Boats and chances are you would think of the dark days during the 1940s with World War 2 creating hell on earth for most people, where the dreaded German U-Boats sank many an Allied vessel. Well, fast forward to today, and no stigma should be attached to the word “U-Boat”, especially when you are now able to rent your very own submersible known as the U-Boat Worx in the form of a worldwide private charter program.

The Netherlands-based company will have their staff confer with clients in order to make sure the clients get the submersible which suits them best, where upon agreement, the watercraft will be sent to a destination of the client’s choice, while U-Boat Worx supplies essentials such as the crew, support/technical equipment, and transport to and from the launch site.

The C-Quester 3 and the C-Explorer 2 will be made available to those who can afford it at the moment (€75,000 per month for the whole works, crew and all), where it can seat a trio of people in the C-Quester 3, while the C-Explorer 2 is a little bit more intimate as it seats just two. both mini-submersibles feature 360-degree transparent acrylic pressure hulls, air conditioning, and a maximum operating depth of 100 meters (328 feet).

There will be a 5 passenger C-Explorer 5 coming later this year, but I guess traveling in one of these will remain a pipe dream for most of us.
