Mike LazaridisThe ongoing BlackBerry outage seems to be the main topic of interest over the past few days (just in time for the release of the iPhone 4S?) and a lot of people are unhappy. RIM is clearly aware of the fact and is doing all it can to solve the problem as soon as possible, but in the meantime all we can do is sit and wait. RIM’s founder and co-CEO Mike Lazaridis has just issued an apology via YouTube video addressing the issue and the fact that the outage has let a lot of people down, including himself.

He confirms that the service is back to normal in various parts of the world, but states that they will be closely monitored to make sure they don’t go down again. No word on when we’ll finally see the BlackBerry service up and running 100%, but in the meantime if you’re feeling frustrated you could always tweet for a free Windows Phone.
