ChatONLast week we reported the launch of Samsung’s ChatON but because it was only available in certain parts of the world, a lot of people were missing out on it. Well, Samsung is pleased to announce that ChatON is now available worldwide. In case you didn’t know, ChatON is a messaging app/service that works similar to WhatsApp/KIK Messenger etc. It allows smartphone users to send messages to each with data as opposed to regular texting rates, which essentially translates to free messaging.

Since the service uses data, consumers won’t get charged hefty bills for international texts, which is one of its main benefits. Besides text, users can send videos, pictures, audio clips, and even hand-written text. ChatON is available for all Android devices now and will be preloaded onto bada smartphones and selected Samsung feature phones starting this month. Samsung is also working on getting the app available for other platforms by the end of 2011. Head over to Samsung Apps or the Android Market to download it now (free).
