I knew that Big Bird was more than just an innocent moniker – and someone else thought the same, too, with Sesame Street’s YouTube channel being hacked yesterday – where the standard issue of family-friendly content was removed, while pornographic content took center place. I guess parents as well as kids who stumbled upon it during the 22 minute ordeal were shocked to say the least. YouTube representatives did not want to release any comment, but claimed that removal of such content was keeping in step with user guidelines.

According to a YouTube spokesperson, “YouTube’s Community Guidelines prohibit graphic content. As always, we remove inappropriate material as soon as we are made aware of it.”

Presumably the same group of hackers also changed the Sesame Street YouTube channel’s profile page, where the user name has been altered to MrEdxwx. A message accompanied the profile, stating ” WHO DOESN’T LOVE PORN KIDS? RIGHT! EVERYONE LOVES IT! IM MREDXWX AND MY PARTNER MRSUICIDER91 ARE HERE TO BRING YOU MANY NICE CONTENT! PLEASE DON’T LET SESAME STREET TO GET THIS ACCOUNT BACK KIDS :( PLEASE…LET ME AND MRSUICIDER91 HAVE IT AND WE GONNA MAKE ALL THE AMERICA HAPPY!”

Hopefully the kids can get back to their regular programming soon.
