Siri here, Siri there, Siri everywhere – considering the popularity of iOS devices worldwide alongside the fact that most people do own iOS 5-compatible devices, you might soon hear Siri, the personal assistant who understands most of your logical questions, far more often than usual. It did not take long for fans to port Siri over to devices apart from the iPhone 4S, and here we are with a developer known as @jackoplane having Siri work on the original iPad.
Jack’s version of Siri on the original iPad does not communicate with Apple’s servers, leaving it to query Google or TellMe. Still, it must be noted that just about any compatible device can be spoofed to trick Apple’s servers into thinking of it as the iPhone 4S. Needless to say, to get this port of Siri on the iPad up and running, your device needs to be jailbroken in the first place. I guess the whole exercise of this porting business is to show the world that it can be done, but whether it will do a good job as Siri on the iPhone 4S is another story altogether.
