Some of us have too many contacts saved in our phones from people we meet on an everyday basis, so it’s understandably hard to put a face to the name some times, but it looks like Verizon has the answer for you in their new service called Facetones.
Targeted at Android users for now, Facetones, as the name implies, is a personalized ringtone that will display a slideshow of images of the person that is calling. Apparently what the service does is that it connects to various social networking websites to pull images of your contact onto your phone.
For now it appears that Facebook will be the first site that Facetones will connect to, but apparently Verizon has plans to expand to other social networking websites in the future. Twitter? Google+? MySpace? If you’re interested in subscribing to Verizon’s Facetones, the app is available for download from the Verizon devices with the V Cast Apps storefront for a one time purchase fee of $2.99, and a subscription fee of $0.99 per month.
