Earlier this year Verizon first mentioned its plans of introducing family shared data plans and since then we haven’t heard much about it. But it looks like Verizon might be getting ready to roll it out in the near future. The folks over at Droid-Life were tipped off by a reader noticed something in his data usage stats after dialing #DATA on his Verizon line. In the incoming text showing his data usage, it specifically says “SHARED: INDIVIDUAL” as opposed to a text just showing data usage without mentioning the word “shared” anywhere.
This text suggests that Verizon could possibly be testing its shared data plans that were promised earlier, and that the service might be ready for the public to use. Then again, it could have just been an isolated incident and doesn’t mean anything. Either way, keep your eyes peeled. Anyone on a shared Verizon family plan getting the same result after dialing #DATA?
