Canon logoWe all know that Canon churns out some pretty good shooters in either the compact camera category or the DSLR range, but here they are flexing their muscles for Hollywood. Yes sir, Canon’s full-fledged entry into the motion picture production industry is marked with the launch of the Cinema EOS System. This will be the company’s latest professional digital cinematography system that will comprise of the lens, digital cinema camera and digital SLR camera product categories.

It will definitely be a new area of imaging expression for Canon, and I do wonder at times what took them so long? After all, they have 74 years of innovation and expertise in the field of optical and imaging technology, so don’t you think it is rather belated with the Cinema EOS System? Better late than never, I guess. The new Cinema EOS System is said to deliver compatibility with Canon’s wide array of high-performance EF lenses, ensuring that cinematographers are always on hand to churn out a range of unprecedented creative possibilities thanks to the right equipment and skill.

Apart from that, Canon also introduced seven new 4K EF Cinema Lenses-four zoom lenses as well as a trio of single-focal-length models. I wonder which will be the first movie to come out of Tinseltown that is shot fully using the Cinema EOS System? [Press Release]
