Remember our story earlier this morning concerning the download of Firefox 8 by taking the FTP route? Well, it seems that the version you will get there is not the final version of Firefox 8, not to mention with millions of folks pointing their respective browsers towards the FTP location (this is an assumption considering the huge popularity of the browser), it will definitely affect, in the words of Mozilla themselves, their “ability to release the final version of Firefox on time.”
At the moment, we do know that part of Mozilla’s open source development process requires them to post their builds publicly for testing and verification purposes – and while this is definitely exciting, the builds stashed there are not final as they are still going through the quality assurance and testing phases. Having said that, we have taken down the FTP link in our previous post, and would wish you the very best in being patient for the real deal to finally roll out from Mozilla’s site.
