Want to clone a device? Look no further than the masters residing over at China, where the latest device to be cloned would be HTC’s smartphone, and the “fake” smartphone is known as the HTE. Yes sir, this particular knock off is touted to deliver HTC’s very own Sense UI, not to mention being compatible with Sprint’s 4G technology – at least that is what the branding at the back touts, although I am not quite sure whether this will be case when you unbox said device in your living room. There is no further word available on its range of specifications, but based on the looks of the phone, it is nothing too impressive to talk about.

This particular HTC clone does seem to draw its design cues from the house of HTC as well as Sony Ericsson – and surely there will be plenty of other people who won’t mind picking it up, especially for folks living in developing countries and want a cheap HTC lookalike to blend in with the masses. It does remind me of folks who carry around Blueberries which do resemble the BlackBerry on the outside, but turn it on and use it for a while and you would realize that this is nowhere near RIM’s level or quality.
