iPad 2 Smart Cover flaw solved with iOS 5.0.1 betaDays after we reported on the iPad 2 Smart Cover security flaw, came along news that Apple updated their Smart Covers, but the physical update failed to solve the issue as it is obviously a software niggle to worry about. Well, we’re glad to be bearers of good news – the release of iOS 5.0.1 beta will come with it a security fix for the Smart Cover bug, where it will circumvent the original problem by not allowing the iPad 2 to enter sleep mode whenever the Smart Cover closes while on the power off menu. It should take a few weeks before iOS 5.0.1 makes its way to all iOS 5 devices. I guess that is one less security headache to worry about, don’t you think so? Hopefully there will be more of such security flaws in the future, where you can see it at work after the jump.
