Netflix probably figured out that reinventing itself from time to time to look fresh and relevant is always a boon – which could be the reason why they have revamped their Android tablet app’s look. If you happen to own an Android-powered tablet with the Netflix app, why don’t you give it an update and see whether you jive with the new design or not? You will no longer be able to see the previous beige and red scheme, but rather, the immersive user interface in place will be able to let your eyes enjoy the cover art in its fullness. Seems to resemble the most recent set-top box version, don’t you think so?
To coincide with the release of the Kindle Fire and Nook, the new app will roll out today. After all, aren’t both of the mentioned tablets all about content consumption? Amazon might be rather feisty in terms of movie streaming on the mobile platform, but at the moment, Netflix is still king. Netflix for Android is a free download, but the app when installed would be useless unless you are willing to fork out $7.99 each month to access its massive library of movies. The updated iOS version is also set to arrive in a few weeks’ time. [Press Release]
