If you’re in the market for a pair of speakers for your iPhone, but have yet to find one that sits well with the rest of the decor in your house, perhaps these passive wooden iPhone speakers might be something worth checking out.

These speakers are passive in the sense that they require no power in order to work. Instead it relies on the acoustics of the wood and the design of the speaker to help amplify the sound coming out from it. Of course you shouldn’t expect to old a rave or house party with these speakers alone (although that would be pretty cool), but for personal listening and just for decorative purposes, we don’t see why they couldn’t be come in handy.

The speaker dock measures in at 2”x2”x9” and is finished with orange oil and wax. The woods available are cherry, walnut or soft maple, so if you know your woods’ acoustics, you might be able to make a more informed purchase, otherwise it just boils down to aesthetics. These speakers are available from Lowell’s Etsy shop for $60.
