Battlefield 3: Back to KarkandIf you own a PlayStation 3 and Battlefield 3 – today is a good day for you. The games’ first downloadable content – Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand is finally here – a week before it gets released on other platforms. Back to Karkand brings four new maps (Wake Island, Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, and Sharqi Peninsula) to the base game for you to duke it out with your friends and other players over the internet. Servers will also be mixing and matching maps from the base game so you will never have to commit to playing either base game or Back to Karkand maps in your gaming session.

To celebrate the launch of the DLC, EA/DICE have released video footage of the game running on a PlayStation 3. Battlefield 3 Limited Edition owners get it for free, while the rest of you will have to pick it up for $15, at the PlayStation Store today. Xbox 360 and PC gamers will have to wait for it to arrive next week on December 13th.
