CTL launches MB40U Ubuntu notebookIf you’re looking for an alternative operating system to Windows or Mac OS X, Debian Linux-based Ubuntu might be just what you need, and if you’re looking for a laptop running the Ubuntu platform, CTL just recently announced the launch of their MB40U Ubuntu laptop that appears to be rather affordable.

The laptop will be a 14.1” model with its base specs featuring a 2.2GHz Intel Core i3-2330 processor with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a 160GB 5400rpm HDD, with an Intel N6200 a/b/g/n Pro adapter for Wireless connectivity although an Integrated 10/100/1000 LAN card will also be available for direct connections. The laptop will also be running on Ubuntu (v.11.10) 64-bit as its choice of operating system.

Like we said, these are just the base specs and if you think that’s sufficient for your needs, it will set you back $449. However if you’d like a little more juice in terms of processor performance, RAM, hard drive (there are SSD options available), they are customizable options that can be found on CTL’s website.
