I still remember comics in the 1980s and early 1990s, where there was no such thing as glossy pages (unless, of course, you bought into the entire Image Comics presentation), and there was this particularly interesting advertisement that often graced the pages of comics – showing off this device known as the Game Genie. Yes sir, the Game Genie, just like the mythical spiritual being who grants you your wishes, is said to be able to change the way you play games that everything is pretty much in your favor (think cheating, or God-mode). Well, I guess the 21st century has its own Game Genie as well, thanks to Hyperkin.

This device will play nice with Nintendo’s 3DS, DSi, DSi XL, DS Lite and DS, where it will unlock the hidden secrets as well as the potential to over 300 DS titles. Definitely an achievement for the programming team, since things are not as simple as pressing the classic Konami code any more. The asking price? An extremely affordable $19.99. Who says things only keep on going up in price and never comes down? Expect to see more of the Hyperkin Game Genie at CES next year.
