You know something? The more complex phones get, the chances are higher for them to experience issues with the software as well as hardware. I remember back in the mid- to late-1990s, where featurephones ruled the world, and you never really needed to flash your handset with the latest firmware, as it worked well enough for years on end until the phone gives up the ghost. These days, software and firmware updates are issued all too often, fixing a bug here and correcting a hardware issue there, and it is a safe bet to assume that smartphones comprise of the majority of software updates. The Samsung Epic 4G Touch from Sprint is no different, where this handset has finally obtained a software fix which is said to eliminate the signal failure issue, where this Over The Air (OTA) update will take around 10 minutes to download and install. Do keep your eyes peeled for software version S:D710.0.5S.EK02, and I would recommend you keep your Samsung Epic 4G Touch juiced up while applying this update, or at least have 50% of battery life left. According to Sprint, this particular update should reach 100% propagation within 10 days.
