Vudu, an popular online video service is now available on Xbox 360, the company just announced. The Xbox 360 launch was already on everyone’s lips a couple of weeks ago, but this is now official, and to celebrate the event, Walmart (Vudu’s parent company) is giving away a $4.99 Vudu credit for first-time Xbox 360 Vudu users. More holiday promotions are to be expected.

If you are wondering, Vudu is compatible with Kinect, the Xbox 360 motion control system. Just like other services on that platform, Vudu can be remotely operated without any controller. Vudu also points out that content purchased on Xbox 360 are can be watched on any other Vudu-enabled device, including PC, Mac, set-top boxes and mobile devices.

If you are not familiar with Vudu, it is an online video service that made a name for itself because it had higher video quality and an instant-start, with no pre-buffering involved.
