There is a bug that was discovered on the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango platform that might actually shut you out of your phone’s messaging services completely – it seems that this bug kicks in after the handset receives a specific SMS. Once this SMS is received, you are unable to send, receive, and even read your messages – with the only way out of this potential nightmare being performing a factory reset on your device. Not only that, this bug is said to affect the Facebook Live tile should one of your friends post a specific message as their status update. At least this bit can be circumvented not through extreme measures like a factory reset, but the offending tile can be removed from the start screen itself.

Microsoft has been informed by users concerning this potentially disruptive bug, but the software giant has yet to issue an official statement concerning a system update to squash this irritating bug. This just goes to show how important it is to always keep a recent backup of your phone’s data lest something unexpected like this bug crops up.
