Blizzard has typically used their yearly event, BlizzCon, to announce new games, major updates, and basically to bring fans of the various games of Blizzard together. This has been demonstrated through the costume event which has showcased players/fans dressed costumes and outfits from Diablo, Warcraft and Starcraft. Unfortunately it looks like if you were planning to finally take the plunge and purchase a BlizzCon 2012 ticket this year, you would be out of luck.
According to a post on Blizzard’s website, it would indicate that BlizzCon 2012 has been cancelled. This does not mean that Blizzard has cancelled the BlizzCon event forever, but will instead be postponing 2012’s BlizzCon to 2013 instead. The reasoning behind this move (that will undoubtedly not sit well with faithful BlizzCon attendees over the years) is because of Blizzard’s “jam-packed schedule.”
In place of BlizzCon 2012, Blizzard will instead be holding a 2012 Battle.net World Championship Event, so for more information head on over to Battle.net. So is there anyone else bummed out that there will be no BlizzCon this year?
