Who would have thought that Google Maps, one of the more popular Google apps offered across numerous handhelds, tablets and desktops that help people look for their destination, would eventually cross the line to that of a video game? Google+ Games will launch Google Maps Play Your World in February, where this game will introduce an element of fun to the navigational tool, making it far more interesting to use compared to just receiving directions.
The game has yet to be named, and might actually bring back memories of a certain handheld toy that some of you out there might have dabbled with in your younger years. Anyone remember one of those plastic mazes with a transparent cover, where you help navigate a ball bearing from start to finish? Google has translated this idea to the browser. Interesting, no? While fun initially, I do not think that this will displace other casual titles like Bejeweled from its lofty position.
