The Helius smart pill is actually a new generation of medication compliance monitoring system which will rely on sensor-enabled tablets, while a specially designed patch that is worn on the body will detect the pills’ ingestion. Known as Helius, where it will go about recording just when the patient has ingested a particular tablet, in addition to monitoring the patient’s physical activity levels. All recorded data are then sent to a mobile device, where the tech-savvy patient can refer to his or her smartphone/tablet for additional details such as the next dose of the medication.
