Zeal Optics has just introduced their latest gizmo to the masses – the iON Goggle that intends to change the way you experience the great outdoors, while providing you with the opportunity to share your memories as well. The iON Goggle will feature HD video and photo shooting capability which has been integrated into a pair of goggles – hence its name, allowing you to record whatever you see from your eye level in 1080p True HD resolution, and making sure that all the sounds and conversations made at that time are preserved for posterity as well.

While we know the video camera records 1080p video, the camera is capable of shooting 8-megapixel photos. To make sure that it is as easy to use as possible, you can operate it by pressing the buttons at the side of the goggles without having to remove your gloves whenever the mercury drops outside – talk about convenient. The camera used inside features a sophisticated, 170-degree wide angle lens which will capture images in the wide periphery, and is smart enough to adjust itself for light levels automatically. Not only that, an in-goggle viewfinder and on-camera controls, coupled with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can last for up to six hours on a full charge, makes recording your next memorable moment all the more fun and easy. Expect to fork out $399 for the iON Goggles. [Press Release]
