Forget about the Nabaztag or Karotz – the LikeBelt is going to be the more desirable peripheral for Facebook, as it makes the process of updating your Facebook status or wall easier, where all it takes to post updates automatically are a few pelvic thrusts. This is a conceptual idea, where the LikeBelt relies on Near Field Communication (NFC) to connect with NFC contact points. Basically, it will send out an update automatically the moment you are within vicinity, and right now, the only problem with the definition of “close enough” would be within a range of around 2″ thereabouts, where you are then required to thrust your hips forward in the right direction. For such a concept to work, NFC contact points would need to be a whole lot more popular, and right now, they mainly feature in Google Wallet transactions, not to mention the fact that you would need an NFC capable Android phone to boot. Should the iPhone receive NFC capability, LikeBelt developer Nathan Martin believes that a breakthrough in the industry would occur. Would you like to see the LikeBelt arrive as a commercial product?
