If you’re feeling a bit left out that you could not compete in the Olympics but are itching for the experience, Sega may have the solution for you in the form of a new game that they have dubbed “London 2012 – The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games”. Yes it’s quite a mouthful and it will be available for both Sony’s PlayStation 3 console and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console.

As you might have surmised based on the various sports games you might have played on either console, Sega’s Olympics game will be utilizing both consoles’ motion controls, which is the Move for Sony and the Kinect for Microsoft. This would allow players to play a Kinect-based game of beach volleyball, or take part in a marksmanship event with the Sony Move doubling as a pistol of sorts.

On top of that, Sega will also be adding a global leader board which we guess in a way is somewhat similar to the Olympics, in the sense that you would be competing with players from all over the world. If you’re looking forward to the “London 2012 – The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games”, expect to see the game released some time in June 2012. In the meantime you can check out the game’s trailer below.
