[CES 2012]
Unlike last year, 3D is not cool anymore, the priority is now smartness and connectivity that are a must-have in any gadget today. Most people do not need a compact camcorder since they get a decent one in their smartphones, which has the advantage to offer connectivity and easy upload to the internet. It has become really hard for camera manufacturers to offer innovative features that are compelling enough to compete with the smartphone offering.

Sony unveiled a new stylish designed Bloggie camcorder that delivers live video streaming over Wifi and wireless upload to the internet. Finally, we will get the same features as what is available in our smartphone, minus the ability to see the images and videos on the Facebook or Youtube page directly from the device.

The Sony MHS-TS55 Bloggie Live HD has a sleek and elegant look and a very good build quality. Sony gave us a demo of the live video streaming and it worked pretty well. Additionally, the 3.0″ touchscreen LCD with touch and slide is great: the colors are bright with good contrast. Thanks to its convenient Flip-out USB arm, it is also possible to easily upload to a computer.

The Bloggie Live HD Camera shoots 1080p HD video camera and 12.8-megapixel still images, it will retail in January for $250.
