Windows 8 resetWhenever something goes wrong on our phones or gadgets, we usually have the option to hit the “factory reset” button to get rid of everything on the device and basically just leave it in a state as if it had just been out of the box. This is a great feature to have when you accidentally screw up the device and have no idea how to fix it, or you’re giving it away to somebody else and you want to get rid of everything that you’ve downloaded onto it before.

However, such a feature has yet to be present on computers. Especially in Windows, starting fresh usually means formatting the hard disk and reinstalling the operating system onto it. Well, according to Microsoft on the official Windows 8 blog, it looks like Windows 8 computers will have an option to “factory reset” their computers, and it will be something that’s easy to do.

In addition to resetting the computer, users also have to option to back up important files and data they would like to keep so they will remain present after the reset is complete. The process will be streamlined, less time-consuming and more accessible to more people so anybody who uses Windows 8 should be able to do it themselves. Check out the video demonstration below:
