Google already has their flagship phone in three different iterations over the years with Samsung and HTC as the hardware manufacturer, but here we are with whispers on the floor that Google might actually take the plunge into the tablet market as well – starting with a 7″ form factor device later in the year. This Google tablet is said to have its sights set on the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet that has done gangbusters to date. Initial speculation has led folks to generally agree that the 7″ display will carry a 1,280 x 800 resolution, with production being slated (pardon the pun there) this coming April. It is also predicted that the initial production run will be between 1.5 million to 2 million units, and if the Ice Cream Sandwich-powered tablet actually arrives in the real world, it should be priced competitively – and probably not surpass two Benjamins if it were to be a serious competitor to Amazon’s Kindle Fire. Just which hardware manufacturer do you think Google will piggyback upon?
